To right the wrongs of systemic injustices in the United States — deeply felt pains of poverty, racism, an economy rigged to extract wealth from the 99% of American people, forever wars, environmental devastation, mass incarceration, and a lack of affordable housing, healthcare, and education — 99 Coalition responds with ihsan, moral excellence, by uniting around universal values to enable progress and improve our conditions. Our focus on systemic change nationwide aims to advance policies that will protect our planet, address the cost of living crisis, preserve global peace, and improve the lives of “the 99%” toward betterment and justice for all.
99 Coalition intervenes in strategic federal races around the county to bring power to the 99% of American people, liberating our government from the stranglehold of special interests — the purchase of politicians by multinational corporations, war lobbyists, fossil fuel companies, big pharma, apartheid advocates, and the billionaire class. We are organizing toward a pivotal coalition in the US Congress with the backing of grassroots and movement organizations advancing the cause of the 99% that empowers us.
We unite Muslim Americans and all people of conscience through values-based political education led by experts, traditional community organizing, and digital mobilization. Our team provides guidance to endorsed candidates, implements field and digital intervention strategies, activates and trains the next generation of grassroots leaders, deploys policy experts to educate our communities, and connects our nationwide network of donors to shift the outcome in key, winnable races.
Guided by an ethos of moral excellence, we are transforming Congress by supporting bold, principled, and progressive leaders who reflect our ideals. Among Islam’s core values are universal virtues of compassion, peace, justice, dignity, knowledge, prosperity, integrity, vitality, stewardship embodied by the 99 Names of Allah. Bringing these values to light through good public policy leads to the achievement of human rights and advances our country's commitment to the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals and the U.N. International Bill of Human Rights.
